Te Atatū Intermediate is a Google school. This means that we use the tools provided by Google for our teaching and learning. Through our supportive board and management team, we have been able to provide a Chromebook for each student in the school. We also have many iPads distributed among the classes.
Google Classroom
Teachers at TAI use Google Classroom to share assignments and information with students. They can:
- Create and collect assignments: Classroom weaves together Google Docs, Drive and Gmail to help teachers create and collect assignments online. They can quickly see who has or hasn’t completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback to individual students.
- Improve class communications: Teachers can make announcements, ask questions and comment with students in real time—improving communication inside and outside of class.
- Stay organised: Classroom automatically creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student. Students can easily see what’s due on their Assignments page.

Google Drive
Teachers and students also use the tools in Google Drive.
Internet Filtering
When online, TAI students are protected both by N4L‘s firewall and filtering services, and by Linewize providing both filtering and monitoring of student online activity.
